Being into e-commerce is the dream of all businesses as it could offer a platform for businesses to achieve more sales. But it also turns out that businesses could also lose a lot of sales. The reasons for this could be any, but the most common reason would be the lack of proper attention provided while designing the online store.

The one thing that makes people purchase from your online store would be the site’s appealing factor. If it is able to easily appeal to the aesthetic sense of the visitors and make things as easy as possible for them, then it would be the place from where they would make their purchase. To ensure this, you must put yourselves in their shoes and check whether they would have everything that they need. Also, undertake other tests to ensure the user-friendliness of your online store.

Let us look at some of the common design mistakes that can be found in e-commerce stores that could drive people away from your online store and hamper your sales:

  • No Clear Value Proposition – Value Proposition is the one thing that determines whether your visitors will continue knowing more about your product or hit the back button and move on to another site. A strong value proposition tells why your customers need to purchase from you and nowhere else. You should communicate exactly to our customers what you provide and never keep them in the dark. If they are not able to comprehend what you provide, they would for sure leave you and go after your competition. Make great use of mage and a clear, concise copy which tells a story about a product.

  • Misinformed Product Descriptions – In an online store, or anywhere else, product descriptions are of much importance as it provides your visitors an idea of the product. The best way for you to incorporate product descriptions would be by really thinking about your product and what your customer looks for while shopping for it. Would they care mostly about how it looks, or what it is capable of? Adjusting the product descriptions and image of the product based on this would help you have informed and happy shoppers.

  • Lack of Quality Images – Visuals are one of the most important elements when it comes to selling products. By using high-quality images, you can help the visitor imagine how the product will look in his hands.

  • No Visual Hierarchy – Visual hierarchy is yet another important factor that helps in the selling of your product. With visual hierarchy, it is easy to navigate a website because the site’s design helps the necessary actions become recognizable. The visitor would know that all accent colored text contains a clickable link, while the base text is not clickable and so on. Also, important elements should be made larger and stand out from the rest of the page.

  • More importantly, you should also prove that you can be trusted and that you would deliver everything as you have promised. By adding real customer testimonials, interesting information about the company, having an updated design and so on can help your visitors to grow trust in you and become loyal customers.

By taking care of all these factors, you can have an online store that could perform well for you. For ensuring that all factors have been taken care of, you can avail the services of an e-commerce web development company providing e-commerce website development services. With great expertise in e-commerce web design services, you can be sure that your online store would be the one that appeals to the aesthetics of your visitors.
